Registered Dietician vs nutritionist:
Only nutritionists who are registered with the Commission on Dietetic
Registration can legally use the Registered Dietitian designation.
Registered Dietitians can prescribe medication in some states.
RD and licensed nutritionists can work in schools, hospitals, public health facilities,
Licensed Nutritionists has credentials from national organization like the Commission on Dietetic Registration or Certification Board for Nutrition Specialists
Apart from a bachelor’s degree RD also requires supervised practice hours, passing the certification exam, and renewing certification every 5 years.
